What we know about polish.
Some professionals work with color and shine for years before they truly understand the material. We started in 2015, and we're still learning every day.

Years of tracking techniques and testing products
How Domain Started
The platform grew from observing how often workshops focused on theory while participants needed hands-on guidance. People wanted to practice actual techniques, not just listen to explanations.
Our first workshop had 11 participants in a rented studio space in Woodstock. Each person received identical materials and followed the same sequence. Some struggled with brush pressure, others with timing between coats.
That first session revealed what mattered most: seeing someone demonstrate a movement in real time, then immediately attempting it yourself. The format hasn't changed much since then.
Who Teaches The Workshops

Gareth Pemberton
Lead Instructor
Gareth spent six years working in product development for a manufacturer before switching to education. He knows why certain formulas behave differently under UV light and how humidity affects curing time. His workshops focus on troubleshooting common application mistakes.

Siobhan Ashworth
Technique Specialist
Siobhan worked in a high-volume salon for eight years where speed and consistency were mandatory. She developed a systematic approach to color layering and edge cleanup that reduces rework. Participants often request her feedback on brush handling and stroke control.

What Actually Happens In A Workshop
Each session follows a consistent sequence designed around observation and repetition. Participants watch a technique demonstrated, attempt it themselves, receive specific feedback, then try again with adjustments.

Surface Preparation
The first hour covers nail surface treatment and base coat application. Most adhesion problems come from rushing this stage.

Color Layering
Participants practice building opacity through thin coats rather than one thick application. Brush pressure and stroke direction make visible differences in the final appearance.

Edge Refinement
The final segment focuses on cleanup techniques and seal coat application. Clean edges require steady hand position and proper brush angle, both of which improve with repetition.
